Is it too early to plant nasturtiums and sweetpeas in tubs outside. The weather is still very cold.

I'd say way too early, there's still plenty of chance for frosts. I'd have thought April/May
You can start them off but you'll have to keep them inside, or in a heated greenhouse, otherwise you might lose them as they won't germinate as the soil will be too cold, or they might rot in the ground/tub if the soil gets too wet

Thanks for your answers. I'm a bit eager to get planting seeds, but I think you are right.
Sweet peas like a very deep root system.
Soak the seeds overnight, and sow in something like a compost filled loo roll tubes.
You can buy root trainers too.
They hate their roots being disturbed.
