Where would you buy rolls of turf from?
I have seen them for £150 at homebase
Would a local garden centre be cheaper?

Thanks in anticipation

Much cheaper at a garden centre - wrong time of year though?
The only place I would consider buying turf from would be direct from a turf grower. Then (as long as you avoid the numerous cowboys out there) you'll know that you're getting a top-quality product that hasn't been allowed to dry out and which will match the conditions under which the grass will be used. (There's a great deal of difference between the grass mix needed for kids to play football on and that required for a croquet lawn; it's important to buy the right type of turf).

Use the 'Find a Grower' facility here (at the bottom right of the page) to find a reputable company in your area:

Well I'll be honest
It's to go over the top of what was left of my exsisting lawn which is just about as rough and overgrown as you could ever imagine
I thought by laying turf over the top it would smooth it out making it easier to mow
