Japanese anenomes

My Japanese amenomies do not flower. I have some in full sun, some in semi shade but neither lot flower. Any suggestions.

Neither are mine in flower, a bit too early I think. If you mean never, perhaps you should just move them to another place, or give them a good feed and see what happens

This is the third year I have had them. When do yours flower jamesnan?
I live in Zimbabwe and I have noticed the white ones in a shopping area near me in full flower. (They are in fuul sun) The pink ones tend to flower later. I have pink and white and neither seem to be doing anything. I will try feeding them but if they dont do anything this year I will try moving them.

Is the soil damp enough... they don't like to dry out

Thats really early wood anemones and the corm type should be almost ready to flower but the japenese ones are normally autumn flowering Are you in the Southern Hemisphere?

Yes I am rowanwitch. At the moment we have had buckets loads of rain so that shouldnt be a problem now but will watch the watering in winter when we dont get any. Thanks forall replies

mulching helps too

Moved ours to a shady spot & dug in & mulched with leaf mould. They don't like a fertile soil evidently. BTW, it flowered mush better in its new position.

They hate being transplanted and do take a while to settle down but 3 years is a long time. Like clematis I've found they seem to like their heads in the sun but their feet kept cool...try the mulch, mine have gone mad since I put gravel around them.

Arid conditions cause a plant to flower to make seed before a drought kills it.

Let the plant dry out & only water when in flower to increase growth.

You might want to give the plant a liquid feed every week when in leaf. Someone told me that "bind" daffs can be made to flower by feeding with something. I'll try to find out.

I will try the liquid manure as well. Thanks hammerman. These will be the most pampered wind flowers
