I have been given a grow bag and will pop out to B&Q lunchtime to buy some veggie seedlings. What ones are right for planting now?

Cheers

where in the country are you? I am in the far south and have toms and pumpkins out but in scotland frosts are still a risk.

I'm in the south (Essex to be precise). So can I still buy tomato plants then? Brilliant - love those. What about chillis? Would just like some idea before I trawl the garden centres

yes its just the right time now for all those things..strawbwrries too.
I am already eating my strawberries! Have got potatoes, toms, chillies, courgettes, marrows, pumpkins, lettuce in and growing well. Also several hanging baskets and things that I can't remember what they are! We have had frost, it's only a small garden so most things are in growbags (best to get 'grow cubes' for depth) and a small plastic greenhouse. Also have an old apple tree which does well and some rasperry canes. All I need now is a money tree!
Best of luck, Wheaten.
homebase had aubergine plants in stock as well as bell peppers, chillies, and trays of lettuce seedlings I'd do one tomato the golden onesif I can find a plant, one bell pepper and one aubergine and tuck in a few lettuces around the edges... and get another bag while I'm at it and put some french beans in they will still be fine if sown now
