I needed to replace some tiles in our bathroom. they were a light beige colour fading to white around the edges. i visited b&q and annoyingly they had slightly darker or white and mine sat right in the middle so i plumped for white.
the colouring is very subtle.can anyone suggest something to stain the tiles to better match the colour? doesnt necessarily have to be permanent. i was thinking of trying dabbing coffee or similar on and letting it dry on.
thanks.

*any ideas.
It wouldn't stay on though.
Long shot, but an oil based glass paint might work. You can dilute the colour to match with thinner and it should last longer than coffee!
The glaze on the tiles prevents colour sticking well, so whatever you paint on will tend to fall off gradually when cleaned.
Perhaps use a contrasting tile in a specific area? (which may involve stripping off some 'good' tiles to get a decent pattern)
I just thought I should post a reply to ayabrea38's answer, Oil paints dry by mechanical key, i.e. entering the pores and keying to them, so it isn't advisable to use this on tiles. There is a primer available which can be used to paint over glazed tiles which can then be painted as normal, this can be used on most tiles apart from where a lot of water is present. i.e. showers
