Vinegar.
Unscrew it to remove the rubber washers. gover with equal parts vinegar and boiling water (white is best but you can use brown). leave about 8 hours eg. during the day or overnight. rinse thoroughly with hot water and dry well - I use a microfibre cloth. If you've got limescale round your taps soak some paper towels in vinegar and wrap them round and leave them again overnight. Depending on the shape ot the tap and the severity if the lime scale you can also jam a lemon, cut crossways on them. I hold it on with duct tape. You can keep showers clean by having a spray bottle with 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water. It smells a bit but soon dissipates. Pour a tablespoon of vinegar down the sinkhole and that will help to get rid of the soap scum. About every three months or so I put a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda followed by a tablespoon of vinegar. Fizzes like mad but clears scum. Also clears the grease out of kitchen sink waste traps. Do it one a week. Leave to stand about an hour and then flush with boiling water.
