3 external walls in my lounge, which are wallpapered, have recently shown black (sooty??) type marks which outline the breeze blocks in the cavity between the plasterboard and external brick. We are a smoke-free home and the wallpaper has been up for about 6 years. We have never previously had any problems. It is very strange - you can actually see every outline of each breeze block around the 3 walls! A builder is mystified and thinks it must be something to do with a reaction with heat ........... anyone any ideas?
