I bought a dry looking twisted hazel tree because I fell in love with it, and thought once I had planted it and with plenty of water in a sunny spot that it would recover. That was 2 months ago, and it hasn't changed at all. No sign of any pest on the leaves, and it has plenty of room to grow and spred it roots. Can anyone help?

I would reccomend asking on the animals and nature board-there is a very knowledgeable guy there (not me!)
I think what you bought was actaully a stick
first of all you need to establish whether it's still alive. Cut a small nick through the bark to the flesh of the tree. If its green, it's still alive. You will need to protect the tree from frosts as much as possible. Next spring, with any luck, you may see some new growth.
The best thing is to leave it till next year and see what happens, two months isn't very long for it to make a recovery. It has two chances
