Back in October I applied for a 'free' energy monitor from Daily Mail. Hadn't received and contacted them - advised would be delivered December.
Yesterday I received this together with free Br Gas standby saver which was for Br Gas customers and worth 19.99! (I am not now with BrG)
The instructions for OWL monitor works with live out going cable supply. Our consumer unit does not have this cable visible (there is a panel behind the box) so it would appear we cannot make use of this and we do not leave the TV on standby anyway so the standby saver also seems surplus to our needs.
If anyone can advise differently I would welcome their suggestions otherwise I will try to find a family member who can make use thanks

I think you have it covered ... can't get at the cable (without disruption) don't need standby .... pass it on
