Many years ago, someone glued 'foam/plastic' 2mm sheets across a vast extent of wall in what is now our house to insulate/deal with damp - it is a disaster to remove and is stuck fast - any ideas, as the current way, with a blade is tedious and will take weeks at this rate?

Treat it like wall paper and use a steamer to soften the adhesive then peel/strip.

should i score it first, as the membrane is waterproof and insulating, how will the steam get in behind it?
Suppose you could, but I was thinking more of the heat of the steam to soften the adhesive, rather than the moisture.
What does that have to do with this question? Spammer!!!
