Skirting boards

We have recently moved into a flat with a basement conversion, but there are no skirting boards in the room, so there is a small gap between the bottom of the walls and the floor. Does anyone know of a cheaper/easier alternative to fitting skirting boards around the room?

To stop draughts, you could try masking, parcel or duct tape. Unsoghtly, but cheap and it works.

Quadrant beading stuck on with No More Nails should work well. Or even use double sided tape to fasten down
