I need to fix tarpaulin to a wooden structure but in a way that it is easily removed. Any idea what are the best fasteners to use?

I would suggest you get an eyelet maker kit or see if you can find someone in your area to put proper eyelets in the tarpaulin. Put some hooks on the structure and use bungee loops with a ball (what are used on a tilt trailer by truckers) to secure them. The ball stops the bungee coming through the eyelet. Job done. Some eyelets on this site and the bungee loops as well (9th item down on this site
