is when, as now, Mr Tilly has bought a new CD and he waits until I get home before playing it loudly. It's so loud it hurts me ears and I ask him to turn it down and he chunters at me.
He has to sit exactly in the middle of the speakers as it's playing and he goes off into a world of his own.

He's turned it down but it's still too loud. I have decamped to the kitchen. I have my earphones on and am playing music and I can still hear the damn thing!

I think it's a man thing.

PARDON? DID SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING?
BUY MRT SOME HEADPHONES/TURN ELECTRICITY OFF
If you were still courting, you'd pretend to love that music and sit and listen to it with him, for hours and hours.
What is the CD, anyway?

I do similar, difference is I'm the one with the Headphones, sit back, good music at a good volume and watch the yachties playing around in the Estuary, often enhanced by a glass of something good!

Good idea, jo. Headphones, for him, would be a definite bonus. Of course he will want the best, most expensive ones. Not like mine from Poundland.
Headphones might help. I don't think it's a man thing- i used to do it, now only do in my car when I'm on my own.

hc, that is so true. I sat through hours of music I didn't like at the time but, strangely, I do now. That's a very perceptive point.

The CD is Wildewoman by Lucius. Two screechy women.
I 110% sympathise Tilly - After years of playing the decks to astronomical volumes and going out to loud clubs in his yoof, My OH can't have the TV at a normal volume - It quite literally hurts my ears.
I came up with a solution, whilst I had some time off, I decorated the Attic room, turfed out all the junk and turned it into a 'Man-Cave' for him - now he can have his decks and TV at whatever volume he wants with the door shut and I can peacefully type away on my laptop downstairs with the hound. He loves the man-cave too xx

Good guess, Sibs. They will have to be Bose, to go with the sound system. Nothing less will do.
Can't hear anything... Are you really gness in disguise?
OH is like that when the cricket is on. He shouts at them too, telling them what to do. If it's a nice day I go out and potter in the garden, if not, I stick to the kitchen.
A man-cave peaspeculiars. What a great idea. Have to copy that.
If it were Abba, I would have already phoned the solicitors.
Now is the time, tilly, to Ban Him To The Shed :-)
it's a win/win set-up Butterbun ;o)
Question Author
jim, gness and I do have some things in common. Deafness being one of them.

I think I need a woman cave. I'm going to work on that.

it's finished now and he has come into the kitchen to tell me how fantastic it was and how much i would like particular tracks on it!
