We Have The Switch Above The Worktop For The Socket Underneath

When our kitchen was re-wired & re-fitted the sparkies fitted switches above the worktops for sockets below. They were only allowed to fit 3 double sockets [we're Local Authority tenants]. So we're shorts on sockets.

One of the switches isn't needed as the socket below is redundant [gone from a gas cooker to gas/electric, so ignition is off the cooker feed]. Would there be a problem swapping the wires in the socket, so I can swap the switch for a socket? Thanks

I can't see any reason why not, Kia.
If you do it yourself, take your time. It can be quite fiddly, especially if it's a single socket.
