I have a set mahogany varnished tables which are in great condition except for marks stains made by setting hot cups etc how can I paint them!

real mahogany? don't paint them, refinish!

One method of removing cup rings is to lay a cotton cloth over the stain, and press with an iron set to medium heat for a few seconds at a time. when the stain is nearly cleared, rub over it with some mayonnaise and leave it for an hour or so. Then wipe it off and polish the wood.
