Are women allowed into Special OPs or SAS (USA and UK)?

I have no idea why this question popped into my little head.

Yes, SAS men always need a cuupa tea

I am not very good at making tea. :-)

I remember arguing with a guy about 25 years ago about this - I just wondered if things had moved on since then.

There are some scary women out there.

There has only ever been one female who has passed SAS selection, and she was in the Navy!! She went on to serve with 14 Det Intelligence Corps in Northern Irelandin the 1980's
