Ive just logged on,and im outraged about the 43% of people who have voted no,dont they realise they will have the option of not donating their organs.I had a liver transplant 3 months ago which saved my life by weeks.Ps.how would they feel if at some stage in their life they or someone very close needed a life saving transplant and a match couldnt be found in time, when they needed it most, as there arent enough organs available.

Yes I agree with you scarecrow if you don't want to donate organs, then opt out, should be simple eh?
I think folks have some warped idea that if their organs are removed, they will not pass on peacefully.

Stupid, I know, but I am perfectly willing to donate my organs as they are no use on to me when I'm dead!
I agree, scarecrow.

When I am gone, my organs are anybody's. I don't need them. It's not as if they're being wrenched from your body while you're still alive, is it?

Hope you are feeling well scarecrow.
I believe this is the norm for Spain, they use our organs unless we say no - well they do in Ibiza, and it's a good thing too, as long as we are dead!!
I think Ab's wording of the poll is here to blame. Maybe people aren;t reading the opt out clause, because the no option, makes it sound like you have no choice but to donate. Option B, should read No, as I am too lazy to inform the donar register that I wish to keep all my organs.
cant see any reason why people dont donate their organs after death, i bet if you asked all the people who wouldnt doante if they would accept a donation should the need arise they would all say yes

I'm all for it , it it's going to save lives.
Scarecrow, is it right that you can recieve a partial liver donation from a living person? I know the liver has a good rejuvenation rate but Im not sure my brain hasnt just concocted it.
as i was saying, 3ight8ball if you were at deaths door and a transplant could give you life would you refuse it?

Erm.... surely its still defiling your body receiving a transpalnt organ.

I can accept people who believe they wont go to a resting place if they dont have all their organs intact but you wouldn't if you received a donor.

I shamefully have everything ticked on my donar card except corneas. Although my grandad received a cornea transplant and I am starting to wonder whether it's a bit silly me worrying about my eyes when I am dead.
yes i do have a problem with it,i cant understand why people like you are willing to accept but wont offer i just find that very selfish

the other x% of people arent on here and if they were id say exactly the same as goody said accpeting a donation is still defiling your body so whats the difference, the bits arent any good to you but could help others, i dont know if you have children but would you still feel the same

I have been on the organ donor register for several years and have always been a fan of the opt out system rather than the opt in one we have now.
