Enlarged icons on opening menu

Opening screen on my Toshiba laptop has altered in that the icons have become much larger,almost sitable for a visually impaired setting.Please advise me how to revert to normal sized icons.

Assuming Windows XP:

Right click on a blank bit of desktop, click 'properties'

Click the Appearance tab - then the advanced tab

In the item drop down menu, choose icon.

Adjust the size with the arrows.

Alternatively right click on a blank bit of desktop and click properties. Click on the Appearance tab (so far, as previous answer)

Click on 'effects' and see if 'use large icons' has been selected. If so cancel it.

Thanks for your suggestion,Panic Button.The problem started(and remains)when I connected my video camera to the laptop last night.All settings now appear knacked as text size is enormous and I cannot reduce via any option on the Page tools.Any ideas please?
Try system restore to a time before you connected the video camera

Start. All programs. Accessories. System tools. System Restore
