what is the diffrence between a slug and a snail

same creatures ?.....no, a slug is a bullet........and snail is something a person who talks through their nose goes to, to buy reduced goods........e.g. january snail, closing down snail.....

I dont really understand why I hate slugs but quite like snails. Anyone ever stood on a slug barefoot, its gross!
