does anyone know of a website where I can get some info on a HMS resolution tankard. It has a stamp on it which says 'christmas island'. It was thought to be pewter but its tarnished quite badly & there looks like some sort of hallmark on the base. Its obviously been knocking about for many years. I have acquired it from an old, past on friend & am interested to know more about it. thanks in advance for your help!

If you read thru this link you will see that Port London on Christmas Island was also known as HMS Resolution.

thank you for your reply & I will look at the link you have given me. Regards
well it seems a likely source for the tankard, anything relating to capt Cook's HMS Resolution would be priceless, and there have been several RN HMS Resolutions registered over the years, but this is the strongest link to combine the two, even tho of course Capt Cook's ship was famous for it's Christmas Island maps.
