Prince Charles Surname

Will Charles use his father's surname? Will we next have the House of Mountbatten? Or will he stick with Windsor? Did the Queen take Phil's surname when she married?

Lord Louis Mountbatten ( Prince Charles's Uncle) was heard to have boasted at a party that the next King would be from the House of Mountbatten. This infuriated Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mum) when they were told of this. It was shortly afterwards decreed that the Royal family name would remain Windsor. Prince Philip is quoted as saying he was the only man in the Kingdom not allowed to pass on his family name on to his children. Later there was some relenting when it was decreed that children other than the heir would be Mountbatten-Windsor's but the name of the dynasty would remain House of Windsor. However, Prince Charles is known to have idolised his late uncle so when/ if he becomes King what is there to stop him changing his decreed?
