Do you think that somewhere in the uncharted jungles or the depths of the ocean there might be a few prehistoric creatures still living?

Recently a living Coelacanth was found- an ancient fish that scientist believed had died out over 10 million years ago. That was about 40-50 years ago. Might man find another creature that has eluded our sight for so long?

There is so much still unchartered that even the 'experts' admit there are probably things out there that they don't know about, sure people will say its impossible but truth is they don't know no more than anyone does.
in the sea, possibly; we don't get down there much. Less likely on land, most of which has been covered; the occasional small creature may turn up but don't expect tyrannosaurs to turn up any time soon.
Birds are dinosaurs.

With that remark, I think you may well have set the triceratops amongst the pigeons!

Your certainty is admirable, heathfield. A large number of scientists in various specialties would probably like to discuss the matter with you, however...

Well, I for one have heard that birds are ancestors of dinosaurs like the fearsome Pterodactyl, but i can't really see much similarities between the two.

Speaking of which, there have been reports in various deserts of people seeing 'Large reptile-like flying beasts' in the sky. (I would like 3 of what they're taking.)

Clanad - Noooo problem - there are a large number of scientists who'd back me up! (Read Robert Bakker's "The Dinosaur Heresies". He's one of the guys who originally pushed the idea that dinosaurs were warm-blooded, pretty fast movers, now generally accepted. His final paragraph was along the lines of ' Wouldn't it be nice if, one day, when people see migrating geese in autumn, they say "Look! The dinosaurs are flying south!") For one of the latest reports...

There are loads of reptiles and birds which are still alive which are the direct descendants of dinosaurs (e.g. chickens, ostriches, alligators). The word "dinosaur" is merely the word that we use to describe the sub-set of dinosaurs which became extinct.

Heathfield,

Not the sort of scientists Clanad is talking about. His sort of scientist believes that an invisible thing with no origin put there fossils down to challenge us, or some such thing.

Anyway, there are no dinosaurs left on earth but many lines descend from dinosaurs, most notably, birds.

"dinosaur" comes from the greek for monstrous lizard so you only have to watch a programme with Steve Irwin in to see that they are still out there - even in the wild!
yes, i think that there are many species out there that have not been found yet. I heard the other day that there are possibly millions of species out there that have not been found yet. Its probably because of evalotion

All the answers so far indicate a belief in evolution. One type changing into another type. The Bible indicates otherwise. Genesis 1; 20-23 "20 And God went on to say: Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens. 21 And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarmed forth according to their kinds, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good. 22 With that God blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters in the sea basins, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth. 23 And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a fifth day.".

According to their KIND! The dinosaurs DID exist, but as a separate species, and they were gone before man was created. If their bones can survive a long time through fossilization, so could man's IF HE WAS AROUND THEN. He was not. And if some very large dinosaur was still in existence in a remote jungle, SURELY Google Earth would have seen it.

Er, no, i dont think Google Earth would have seen it, because even if it did,

My computer's playing up, sorry, there was meant to be more to that
According to the Bible, God created animals " according to their kind'. These days, any animal that cannot breed with another type [ e.g. lion/tiger...horse/donkey...] [ the offspring are barren] would be a 'kind'. But lets not try and figure out what God is capable of. We may all be wrong.
