Peter was crucified upside down upon his own request as he didn't feel he was worthy to die in the same manner of Jesus. The Pope's chair has a cross of St Peter on the back often leading fundamentalist Protestant groups to imply that it's an inverted crucifix and therefore a symbol of diabolism.Riiiiiiiight.
St Andrew, patron sain of Scotland, he said he was not worthy of the same method of crucifiction as his Lord Jesus Christ
Saint, damned typo
I thought Saint Andrew requested a diagonal cross - which is why his cross on the Union flag is a diagonal - but I'm not certain.
Andrew was crucified on an X shaped cross.

He is said to have suffered crucifixion at Patras (Patrae) in Achaea, on a cross of the form called Crux decussata (X-shaped cross) and commonly known as "St Andrew's cross" - from Wikpedia.
Nice to see at least two people (Ethel and I) can spell crucifixion.

I guess many people were crucified upside down. Unfortunately, not all of them are worthy of being remembered.
