Is Tippex Or Altered Corrections Valid For Crossword Entries?

Simply that: when I attempt to solve a crossword I intend to submit for a prize I make a copy, try to solve it using the copy and when I consider it is correct and complete I transfer it on to the original newspaper copy for submission. When copying it I occasionally make a careless mistake and have to use liquid paper or Tippex to order to correct it. Are these corrections valid and accepted by the issuing paper or magazine or am I wasting my time (and a stamp) sending it in?

Believe it or not the only one I’ve won in this last year has been corrected by using Tippex Some people write in answers in pencil and if correct they then go over it in pen .

Can't see any reason why not. Unless it's in there entry rules... why do you think it might not be??
Aslong as its clear what your answer is. I'm not sure they even che k them anyway... would anyone send in a incomplete one?? If they want 3 winners they just open 3
Some people do them in pencil so corrections can be easily made. I always use ink but I don't submit if I have made alterations.
