i thought that there were more people alive today than have ever lived
I cant remember the site twiglet4frog but google World population statistics and have a look round you will be surprised.

It has been estimated that 12000 years ago the world population was just 19 thousand.

The guesstimate in 2002 was that, of all the people who have ever lived, about 5.8% were alive at that time.

snopes also debunks the idea about more-people-alive-today.

Some sources say TB is the biggest killer. Could be: people who 'die' of Aids often actually die of TB, for instance; the Aids just weakens their resistance and opportunistic infections - TB is the likeliest - bring death. But I wonder how anyone knows what people died of in the past?

Lack of Breath in 100%! LOL
War and famine?
Always thought it was the result of drinking contaminated water - i.e. cholera, typhoid, gastro-enteritis, etc.
Old age is still the greatest cause of death in us humans
George Bush?
usa friendly fire says it all
It is a romantic notion but no one actually dies of old age, there is always a disease process.  The most common cause noted on death certificates in this country is pneumonia.
depressedmgl, there are MANY death certificates issued with old age as the cause. Ask any coroner
