/// The Prime Minister was also ‘pleased’ at US President Barack Obama sending a clear signal that the White House is opposed to the UK leaving the European Union. ///

You are the British Prime Minister, listen to what the British people want, not what Obama wants.

No aog we will never get a referendum on the EU. The smart alecs who always know better than the public who elect them will NEVER allow democracy to actually work, they will always do what they want to do.

WR.

there was a referendum years ago and people voted to join. Blame your parents.
Whats your Views A.O.G. should we pull out?
We already had one. You can't keep having referenda on every decision.
"there was a referendum years ago and people voted to join. Blame your parents."

they voted to join a trading union not a united states of europe, they didnt vote to be subjugated and ruled from europe , they didnt vote to have our laws made in europe, they voted to trade, buy and sell goods
"We already had one. You can't keep having referenda on every decision. "

unlike the eu that will force countries to keep on having votes by means of threats until they get the vote that they want that suits their empire building desire
you may not like him but hes spot on

The splitters want to leave but maintain the trading benefits. In your Dreams idiots !!
The referendum was on whether the UK should REMAIN in the (then) EEC, not join it.
"The splitters want to leave but maintain the trading benefits. In your Dreams idiots !!"

why arent the eu happy with just a trading union, why do they want a political empire.

why do we need to be controlled by europe to buy and sell goods with countries that we have been doing for many many centuries.

makes me laugh when i hear people going on about our days of colonial rule, our empire etc are long gone and how bad it all was etc etc blah blah....well What The Funicular do you think the eu is all about ?

difference being that this time round we will be one of the conquered nations, we will be just a colony/province/region of somebody elses empire

europe can go fluuuck itself as far as I'm concerned

Blimey was it 'all those' years ago?

To say nothing of the opening up of our borders allowing for hordes of economic refugees from Europe to flood into Britain, which in turn is bringing our once envied NHS to ruin (never mind the pathetic excuse that it is all down to us living longer etc), the lack of housing, overcrowded schools, the import of criminals, plus all the other additional costs that have to be taken up by the British tax payer, just for the privilege of being a member.
It was in the early 70s. Doesn't seem that long ago.
jno, //there was a referendum years ago and people voted to join. Blame your parents. //

There was never a referendum on joining. There was, however, a referendum on whether or not we should remain in.

AOG, no, I don't think we will get another referendum.
"There was, however, a referendum on whether or not we should remain"

yes, remain in a trading union and trading only , not on whether we remain in a trading union with total domination and subjugation and destruction of a sovereign nation.

A totally homogenous, isotropic superstate controlled by unelected people in brussells which is what the eu is all about is not what my parents voted for, nor would i vote for.

unfortunately too many people will wake up to the realities of what the eu is all about when its far too late.

The eu is not about trading its about political domination, if they told you the truth they know it would have been doomed from the start.

imagine in the late 40's after having stopped germany from invading us they had said ok peeps this is the deal a new european superstate with germany at the head and in around fifty years every other country in europe totally under their control.

not a chance in hell, so do things slowly and lie, start with a trading union EEC then gradually bring in all sorts of other unintelligible treatys, maastricht and lisbon spring to mind but whos basic tenets are simple takeover, control and dominate....EUSSR

If you really think its about anything else then youre kidding yourself.
It wasn't so long ago that the Irish had two bites at the cherry. First time they gave the wrong answer and were told to go and do it again.
