I say! we knew thing's were bad, but did anyone realise how bad?

The PM has been forced to sell his most valuable treasure a cricket bat, but still at least it's not his or even our 'family silver'.

/// David Cameron has auctioned the bat, presented to him by the celebrated Indian, to raise money for the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation. It fetched £3,400. ///

Yes that must be exactly what that country really needs, a cricket stadium?

If the Rwandans could learn to play the game they wouldn't be massacring each other. Just what they need, I'd say.
ah, not for a hospital then......makes sense given the seller.
He wasn't "forced " to sell it .
It was auctioned off for a good cause.

Couldn't have been because he caught his darling wife playing 'French Cricket' with it then, that forced him to put it up for auction?

****I said, 'No, darling, put it down, this is probably the most valuable possession I have,’” he told his Indian audience.****

****The Prime Minister clearly decided it needed a safer home.****

/// It was auctioned off for a good cause. ///

Surely that is debatable.
quite right, sandyRoe. 500 years ago Lancaster and York were embroiled in the Wars of the Roses. Now they play cricket against each other. The Rwandans have much to learn from this spirit of reconciliation.

A family treasure sold in a noble cause.
You really are good at nitpicking AOG :)
Some benighted Africans will have an opportunity to learn to love the sound of the smack of leather on willow.
If that isn't a good cause I don't know what is.
Not as bad as Gordon Brown selling the Countries gold at a bargain basement price.

He has already sold his most valuable treasure down the river. Our workforce.

This is really pathetic. Only AOG could make an issue of such a trivial matter. Incidentally the term "family silver" came from a senile former Prime Minister shortly before his death, whose grasp on economics was as tenuous then as it was when he was in office.

Sorry, I forgot about Heath!

That is rich coming from a person who posts racist jokes, and enquires if it is safer to live in Weatherfield or Midsomer?

Shall I be the one to tell him that Weatherfield and Midsomer don't really exist.
