In the eighties I worked on a reinforced concrete roof in the westernmost quadrant of the MOD in Whitehall.
I believe it was to be a bunker to protect against nuclear attack.

Has anybody any further information on this?

Thanks in advance

I think the Official Secrets Act might have to be considered before replying!!
If it was to protect from a nuclear attack it would have to be so thick the weight of the concrete would have to be so much the whole building would have collapsed with you on top of it, could have been for a heli pad.
