You have also got to think of what the ancients thought when they came accross Dinosaur bones! Dragons would be a very good guess for them!

There is every possibility that something like what we think of when we hear "dragon" did indeed exist, as they appear in folk legends and stories from across the world, from Wales to the Orient to the Christian Holy Land and beyond, and dragons appear in several religious texts too (including the Bible). For a myth to be so far-reaching and all-encompassing there must be something behind it, but I doubt very much that a real-life dragon will ever be found today.

Well, Sir, I have been hunting Dragons in the Deserts of Arizona for over 47 years and I have yet to see one.....I believe they have all been hunted down and slain long ago.
