Multiple user names

A question for the "chattier" members of this site, please. Can you explain why so many of you seem to change your names, or use different ones all the time. If you are already using an alias, why do you need another one (or two)? Forgive my naivete, but would like to know if it's just for fun.

you should log out and register with a different name!!

anyway,going back to the question..... i have only got 1 name. but a few other's that i know use different names cus they keep getting banned............... Zeus!!

or they find a better name?

i don't use an alias on this site this is my real name and I use connotations of it if it is temp suspended or I over-post, saying that, there are people on here who use my name as their alias to be ********* and cause mischief, and saying that they are easy to spot because they never quite spell it right, and saying that, I have had a couple of other ids on here when it was chatterbank to use for more sensitive posts. lol

Ive been temp barred a few times for posting too many answers too quick and had to reg temp new names...which i have then cancelled when my proper name got back in

People use aliases to wind other people us,and generally create chaos.It has got to the point over the last few days that I look suspiciously at any question from a new user name in green - which I shouldnt be doing!
