Can anyone please help?

Thomas Dungey Guy was born Docking, Norfolk, in 1879. He married Ellinor Mary Pank in King's Lynn in 1905. He died aged 43 in 1922.

Arthur Victor Guy was born in Docking, Norfolk, in 1897. I cannot find him listed on either the 1901 or 1911 census.

I believe that both these men (not sure what relation they were to one another) served in the Great War 1914-1918 but I can't find records to support this.

Can anyone help me to compile further information? Many thanks.

Genealogy is definitely not my specialist area. I was only drawn to this question by the reference to Docking, where I often buy fish and chips after visiting Hunstanton (which is the nearest large town to Docking).

However a quick look at the free information at UKCensusOnline.co.uk shows that in 1901 there was a hairdresser by the name of Thomas D Guy who was 21 at the time (which would be the correct age at the time of the 1901 census for someone who was born after 31 March in 1879). That might be enough to make him a good candidate in your search irrespective of where he lived. However the fact that he lived in Hunstanton would seem to strongly suggest that he's the right person.
Further:
Thomas Guy (listed without any middle name or initial) appears again in Hunstanton, aged 31, in 1911. His occupation was 'hairdresser and tobacconist'.

Thank you. Thomas was born in the 3rd quarter of 1879 so could well be the right person.

However, I also found information that a Thomas Dungey Guy was a soda water manufacturer from 1875-1890 so this could, perhaps, be his father. I know that both T.D. Guy & A.V Guy left for the Great War from the Hunstanton area but can find no record of their service.
Arthur Victor is shown in 1901 and 1911 as Victor.

Thanks, I'll have a look.
Arthur Victor Guy was the son of Arthur And Rose Guy nee Smith, Arthur snr was the brother of Thomas Dungey Guy and they were both sons of Thomas Dungey Guy and Emily Mitchley who married in docking in 1859

Thank you so much. So the two who went to war were uncle and nephew. I still can't find out anything about their military service but I know that Thomas died in 1922 aged 43 and Arthur in 1979 aged 82.
I can't find any military records either...........
I've not found any record either craft, at least not in the names given. Are you sure Arthur wasn't in WW2 not WW!? I know he would have been old enough to fight in the first WW as my grandad went and he lied about his age, but Arthur would have been called up in WW2 wouldn't he?
This is my brother-in-laws family - I've done the family tree for him. Thomas Dungey Guy plus Arthur Victor Guy were born in Hunstanton. TDG's father also Thomas Dungey Guy was married twice. AVG's father Arthur Rupert was born in Milborne Port, Somerset (where the family originate) from the 1st wife and Thomas Dungey Guy born 1879 was a son from the 2nd wife Charlotte Clutton Mahon whom he married in 1878. Thomas born 1979 joined the Royal Navy on 8/10/1917 and then went on to RAF on 1/4/1918. He was discharged 30/3/1920. AVG joined the Royal Navy 14/11/1916 and was demobilised 10/2/1919. The brief records of both are on Find My Past and Ancestry. Are you related to the family?
