My house was robbed a few weeks ago and the stole my 360. However, i had my hardrive at my cousins and i now have a 360 elite with 120G hardrive. i understand that to transfer the data from my old hardrive to my new one requires 2 xbox 360's which will be no problem but where do i get a data transfer cable from? i went to Game and asked them but they said i need 2 go 2 microsoft if i needed one but thats all the way to america!

Go to the xbox 360 website and locate the Data Migration Kit Order Form, print off the form, fill it in and post to the address on it.All you need is the cost of a stamp, the kit is free. You will need the serial numbers of both the old 360 and your new Elite.

the offical route takes ages.

i bought mine off ebay for approx 25. i transferred my data and then sold it on ebay for the same. much quicker.
Why would anyone pay 25 for something you can get for free? I appreciate you sold it for the same money, but you still paid P&P and eBay fees which just bemuses me.

My cable from Microsoft came through in about 10 days
i broke even(i.e. paid nothing) and had it within 3 days.

my original 360 was dying so i couldnt wait 10 days.

still bemused?
It has taken a week for our cable to arrive from Microsoft,i'm migrating the data as I type :)
