xbox 360 - do you need hd?

do you need a hdtv to play an xbox 360 or can you play it on a standard lcd tv?

An Xbox360 will play on a standard def tv no problem.

The text in Dead Rising is not easy to read in standard definition but this is an isolated problem most games are fine.

To add to what Phantaxus said, there are a fair few games where the text is almost unreadable as they were made for HD televisions.

Ace Combat is guilty of this as are Mass Effect and Kane & Lynch to an extent. There are other games, but I can't recall which ones. A google search might help.
