I am thinking about buying a 17 inch LCD tv for my static holiday home nad I wondered if anyone knows if an LCD TV can be easily damaged by transporting it in a car twice a yeat - once to take it and once to bring it back home at the end of the season

Take mine up to the caravan every weekend and no damage so far,ps don`t but the one`s from tesco (250) the pictures terrible.

I have one of these - a DMTech with a built in DVD player.  500 or thereabouts from Comet. Great picture.

I don't transport mine, but it came in a nice thick cardboard box with loads of polysytrene padding. Keep this and it will make transporting the thing a lot safer.

Basically it's anything pushing on the display itself. With a normal CRT screen, it's glass so can take more pressure. LCDs don't take this too well. Just keep something hard and flat under the screen and nothing too heavy on top, and it'll be fine.
