Is it possible to play Megadrive games on a PS2?

Is there anything that can be done to a Playstation 2 that will let you play Megadrive games on it. I know that you can get emulators for PCs that let you do this kind of thing but what about with the PS2. We got the Megadrive out the other night and played Micro Machines and it was great fun, classic game.

Alternatively does anyone know if these games were ever released on the PS2? I know certain Megadrive games were released onto the PS2 but never heard of the Micro Machines series being done.

Thanks chuck, but that is a different game. The ones I have are by Codemasters and are top down view. We did have the V3 version for PS1 but it was never as good as the Megadrive versions.
