Just traded up from the old 20 Gig console to a new 60 Gig - mainly for the HDMI connection. Managed to get 80 for the old one!! Anyway back to the point - went into the memory and took a look at the hard drive because it was only showing 48 Gig of free space. Found about 1 Gig of saves, demos etc, but where has the other 11 Gig gone?? Can anyone cast any light on the dilemma?? Thanks in advance - Cathiron

It's the same with any computer, the operating system needs a lot of space and Microsoft purposefully keep some space back to make sure you've got space for updates they issue and other such stuff.

Your PC would've been the same when you got it as well

Thanks Cakeboy - much the answer I was expecting. I just thought that because the hard drive is a 'bolt on extra' as such i.e. if you bought the Arcade console with no 'extra' hard drive all the operating system is within the console itself, there would have been more of the advertised 60 Gig available.
