This is from ACB312's son. I have a PS3 and would like to connect it to the internet to play games. We have wireless internet in the house but the PS3 is upstairs and out of range. Any suggestions? I know you can run a cable from PC to PS3 but its quite a distance away and would be a pain in the backside. Thanks. ACB312 jnr

You could run an Ethernet cable from the router to the PS3, but like you say it's a pain in the arse. If the PC is wireless, then you could move the router to somewhere where the PS3 is in range.

Other than that, you could try one of those things you plug in and use your electrical ring to send the signal although I don't know how good they are and they're not overly cheap

Thank you Cakeboy. The cable run would be very complicated - Victorian house with thick walls and deep gap betwen floors. I've bought similar items to what you suggested (using the mains wiring) on ebay so we'll see how well they work. Cheers, Andy (father of PS3 user).
