All i'll say is i've had a 360 for over a year and imported a PS3 from Japan at launch the PS3 is quite dissapointing and i imagine it will take at least a year before it can rival the 360 both on games available and LIVE, so I'd say get the 360 now and a PS3 next year once the price comes down. It's also worth noting you can get a 360 and a Nintendo Wii for what you'd pay for the PS3.

Which console has the games you want to play?
The 360 has been out for over a year now and therefore has a great number of games out for it and the online community has had time to grow.
The PS3 has only been out for over 2 months, it has the most advanced technology of the 2, including a blu ray player.Which means the discs can hold almost 3 and a half times more than a normal dvd disc which the 360 uses.Although there arent many good games out yet they are all coming out in mid-late 2007 eg Haze,GTA4 , Blacksite:area 51and home (an online community exclusivly for ps3)-which looks awsome-have a look at the trailers.

ITS YOUR CHOICE-*cough* PS3*cough*
The better console is the one that plays the game(s) you want to play.

If you don't know what game you want to play, then don't waste your money buying a console.
It would only make you waste even more money buying random crap games afterwards, just to try to justify your initial purchase.
