You don't get dogs on the sims 2.
i've got Sims 2 pets on PS2 and there are many dogs.
I can only list what I remember
Beagle, Dalmation, Jack Russle, German Shepherd, Poodle, Toy Poodle, Larradore and many, many more...
You can also get mixed breeds (EG Labradoodle)
