Older Games

I want to get some games for my pc.I bought it in 2001 - at the time i knew nothing about 'em and rather than going for the cheaper option i went for the best system that was available - anyway - at the time it could run any game available. Are there any websites than will show me a list of games from a particular year and maybe tell me the minimum specs needed because i keep finding a game that i like the look of only to find that my system hasn't got the graphics/memory etc to handle it. I don't want to start upgrading the hardware at the moment as i'm going to build a new one next year - thanks in advance - Carlos
