I am currently opening a website where I sell game points i.e. Microsoft Points, Xbox Live Subscriptions etc. What I do is send the buyer a scan of the card which they receive in there email inbox. If they claim that they tried and use the code and it didn't work is there anyway I can cover myself i.e. in my sites T&C.

I will also be using PayPal so they could also try to claim through them so would I have to prove anything to them

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, you would have to prove delivery and you cannot do that if you send a scan of it.

I'm not familiar with these game points but can you not send them via snail mail?
Isnt the email proof of shipping?

There is this website

http://www.rpost.com/registered-email

Where it can prove delivery. If I can use this or something similar will this mean that if someone says the code doesn't work etc. that I will be covered?

Thanks
Email is not proof of shipping, no

Your proof of delivery needs to be the customers signature - recorded delivery covers that. As long as PP can see a sig they will accept that as proof

Email's cannot be signed in person
Proof of sending does not prove the product was not faulty either.
quite redcrx

If the item is faulty ie: does not work, then your buyer will need to return your item to you via the same method as you sent it to enable them to claim back their money.

The only problem is that someone can say that it didn't work but use it anyway and then try and get a refund which means I loose £30 on a £15 item.

and ojread2 they wouldn't be able to return is as they could of used it. Could I put something in my T&C to say there are no refunds etc?
If they haven't been able to use it surely that means it doesn't work ergo faulty ergo your responsibility to replace or refund?

Selling on line like this you are governed by DSR law - go read up on it
oh, i see what you mean sorry - that is, unfortunately a chance you have to take selling these code activated cards
