I have recently installed Area 51 Blacksite and when I wanted to open and play it, my monitor shut down and wrote "video mode not supported", I have never ecountered anything like this, I have a perfect computer, Geforce 8800 GT & a Hyundai screen, i tried installing patches but none have worked, I have installed all the latest drivers.
Please, any help will be appreciated.

A lot of PC games have a safe mode, try this if available.

Also, if you installed the latest drivers after installing the game, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

Email their tech support, or visit the website to look for FAQ.
definately a tech support question for Nvidia or the blacksite developers.... personaly i avoided that game as i read its buggy as hell.
Had the same trouble with it myself.
It tends to load whatever your desktop resolution is set to at first initialization.
My 19inch widescreens resolution was set to 1440 x 900 which the game tried opening at.
By lowering my desktop resolution to 1280 x 720 before opening the game it played fine.
Then once you set a lower resolution in the game options you no longer need to alter your desktop anymore to play it.
