Good first person shooter

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my PC to the latest Dual Core model and am looking for some recommendations on good first person shooters, as I haven't played a game in ages!

In the past some of my favorite games have included Max Payne, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Would Ideally like a game in the same vein and have heard F.E.A.R. is supposed to be very good..

Have you also upgraded your graphics card?
That would give you more than an extra CPU core.

I quite liked Prey and FarCry will certainly give your PC something to do.

Ive never met anyone who actually liked prey....until now ! ;-)
imho the pc gaming industry has been very slow for the past year. i used to regularly buy games but only bought one the entire part of last year.

some good ones upcoming though eg crysis(very good pc needed) and stalker to name just two

To be honest I only played the demo of Prey.
My PC is in desperate need of an upgrade and can only just run it.

I am still playing UT2004, at least until the next version comes out, this is best played online.

Stalker as already mentioned, Far Cry, Timeshift looks interesting.

Prey was ok but had no replayability value IMO.

The halflife series available via Steam.
