This popular Indian snack is onions fried in a light batter full of fragrant tasty spices, coriander, cumin, chilli. When cooked fresh at home they have a crispy, light texture on the outside and soft texture when bitten into, a bit like a fritter.

Onion bhajjis makes a wonderful starter to an Indian meal, a great snack to nibble on every time you walk past the kitchen or wonderful finger food, perfect as part of a buffet.

If you are looking for something a bit different from the typical sausage roll, pineapple and cheese on a cocktail stick, or triangle sandwiches, onion bhajjis make a great tasty change, put a little less chilli in and they will go down great at a children’s party.
Homemade onion bhajjis taste fabulous, they are fantastic fresh and they are simple to cook, so there is no excuse to buy them from a supermarket, they will never be as delicious.
