I put a topic similar to this one back in August. Over the last week, my usual daily download which normally is about 70Mcs tops and that is not usual, has been in excess of 100Mbs and today so far over 200 Mbs and as said before being a wrinklie I find it extremely worrying with what you hear and read about. Even though I had not connected to my homepage the download counter was counting awy quite merrily. Have cheked Windows and Norton to see if any automatic downloads were happening but none. Any advice will be warmly welcome

My download yesterday was over 300Mbs .
Are you on a restricted usage tariff? I.e. Do you have a limit to how much you can download/upload?

If not, it probably isn't a big deal as there have been a few windows updates recently - and these can be quite large.

Also, are you the only one using the computer?

All the best,

Spare

Thank yo for youd advice. In August when I posted the original post I was on a 2Gb restriction but have changed to a Unlimited. What I found so worrying was suddenly going from a modest daily Download to someting like double and then yesterday to over 300Mb's. Just got me panicking being a wrinklie. I did check my Window's Update history but no updates since Oct. Did a full Norton scan nothing found and today my neighbout suggested downloading malewarebytes which I have now done. Only my wife and me use the computer and she works so other than her "shopping" trips it is only me.
