Ah interesting theories guys.
someone posted a sensible question?
It was inhabited by alot of troublemakers near it's end. Think the powers that be decided that it just wasn't worth keeping it open and closed it in December '05.
The site became overrun with abusive anonymous folk and was no fun at all. Mind you it was certainly lively at times
The arguments.

They were a lot worse than this chatterbank.

Wardy in his hayday :-)

I agree zak- lol.

Wardy in his heyday ummmm? Are you laying all the blame on Wardy then?

No zac but i ahve spent the last fortnight dep in the Answerbank vaultsand theere seems to be a contradiction between what some folk remember and others

The Ab ed gave a reason and it didnt include any so far expressed heer.
So im just wondering was it really as bad as we read about?
or is there a bit of drama being added ?

Just a thought.

Well if the ed gave you the reason why it was closed down in the first place Legend- why the question?

You had the answer straight from the horses mouth, so anything us mere mortals say is neither here or there then really isn't it?

I have seen references to security issues , moderation and registering problems.

So was it really like the wild west?

Or was it all handbags at twenty paces and dont mess my hair or ill scratch your eyes out ya b*tch?
It was pretty much like it is now (my opinion here of course). The majority of CBers then used it for what it was intended for- lighthearted waffling. However it was abused by perhaps a handful of folks who just seemed to like arguing, causing trouble and just generally opening their gobs and spouting crap because they hadn't posted anything for a nano-second.

Oh dear tangents again?

As i was saying ive seen reference to it and wondered if anyone had a valid and helpful piece of input.

" Well if the ed gave you the reason why it was closed down in the first place Legend- why the question? "

Factually incorrect.

We hope to reintroduce the chat room at a later date, with improved security and registration procedures in place.

Firstly as i wasnt a member of ab , nor online in any way.

secondly it wasnt adresssed to me but all , as i wasnt a member, i wasnt one of the all.

As that ed has left now i thought id ask those that may have been here then.

 DID THAT HELP ?
