i want to make a domed shaped cake(to look like a hill)
does anyone know if I can bake a cake in a round pyrex bowl?

WOW ! look what I found.....had no idea,but leave it to the Americans to come up with this. I have not looked to see whether something similar is available here in the UK.
Re your question..I would imagine it is possible,but I would only fill the bowl about 1/3 full, as it would not bake evenly, and times may vary as it is glass. You would then need to bake the base in a tin of the same diameter as the dome.

Pastafreak,Thankyou for your answer..great betty crocker tin..but i think that I will try your suggestion and since I want to put a filling in my 'hill' it will work out .

I will Pastafreak.The cake is for my grandsons 4th birthday.I am hoping to make one of Lindy Smiths it is called Sheepfield..I do not have the book only seen a piccy online.
