soak the egg in cold water after being boiled
Crack gently all over. Dip in water. Water should get in between the egg & shell & will come away easier.
Make sure the eggs are properly cooled by plunging them into cold water. I always crack the narrow end of the egg where there is a pocket of air and find the outer membrane there easier to peel off. Also as sachs said run it under he cold water tap and that helps too -just don't tell the "green police"!

thanks therem

the soak in cold water doesn't seem to work all the time just some of the time

thanks saches i will try that now
First, plunge in cold water for 1 or 2 minutes, then crack all over then put into more cold water until cold. Not so fresh eggs seem to stick more.
Also make sure they are as fresh as possible, the less fresh they are, the more egg comes away with the shell!

Don't store eggs in the fridge - this makes them difficult to peel

look like i will have to bye a doz egg and try all of these suggestions :-(
I roll mine on the work surface with the palm of my hand making sure it cracks all round the egg.
Also, if you catch the thin membrane under the shell and peel that, it'll come off much easier.
