Hi
I ordered an apple tart slice priced at 2euro 70 cent from la croissanterie restaurant in Dublin. It looked perfect behind the glass beside two other apple tart slices. But the assistant appeared to have some difficulty sliding it on to the cardboard tray and then appeared to be obviously fingering it for at least 10 seconds. When it was put in front of me, the back and front of it were broken off, and there was a crack on the top. I did not very much feel like eating it and brought it home.
Apart from the second middle crack on top, It appears very much the same as when I got it.
I am not sure if it was a bit demeaning, and maybe I should have asked for an alternative or my money back. I would be interested to know other peoples opinion and reaction, would you be satisfied with this?

Link not working. I would have smiled sweetly and said 'Ooops, that one is a bit broken - could I have one of the others'.

Your photoshop tutorial doesn't show much cake. But if an imperfect cake was all I had to worry about, I'm unsure I'd air it here.

no sign of the offending slice of cake here ... just a photoshop tutorial
If you shut your eyes when you eat it should taste fine.

I have seen the tart and it is very broken up. I'd still eat it, though.
The time to deal with these things is "then and there" - not mull over them hours or days later.
I would have asked for an undamaged one - or a substantial discount for a substandard item - all said with a smile!
Looks like someone dropped it to me, yes I'd complain.
Ah , I see it now, would have offered half price.
having thought about it again, i wouldn't pay that if it was all in one piece
If it was whole when you asked for it then no I wouldn't accept it like that - for no good reason mind you!
I wouldn`t have paid for it. I`d have said "I`d like it in one piece, please". I`d feel embarassed putting an offering like that in front of someone.
I'll have it, if you don't want it.
Nope I'd not have taken it...

If it was the last slice, and I really fancied it, then ok'
but with unbroken alternatives available. . . . no way!

If I didn't feel much like eating it I wouldn't have paid for it. But since you did, and you took it home I think you've accepted it as seen. Eat it up now before it goes stale. (Can only see a tutorial too)
It seems Jess has chosen to leave AB so we'll probably never find out what the tart tasted like
Yes your link didn't work - anyway how do you transfer a photo from your phone onto this site. Sorry for the tangent. Conne
