The battery or power cable ?
Not starting as in no power or just not loading up the windows operating system? If Not doing a thing then check the fuse and power cable/adapter. If The screen shows anything when you turn it on then what does it show? Whats the history of this laptop? have you had it working before or is it a dodgy buy from the carboot or ebay?
What is it actually doing? Nothing?
Can you get in BIOS?
This is like saying .. Why does my car not start .. and supply no other information!
Do you mean it takes several attempts to power it on or does it power on and then fail to start the operating system fully?

As with all hardware/software problems, please post make/model of laptop and operating system.

The laptop is a used dell d600 that works fine when the computer will start.
It will start straight away, take several attempts to power it on or not power on at all.
Then I try it again a couple of days later and it will start straight away or only after several attempts.
I thin the battery and the power cord are ok.
Any ideas please?
